Details

Perspective is not as difficult as it appears when following the step-by-step methods laid out in the Born To Draw Drawing Perspective.  Elaine Cimino will show how to use techniques of perspective to create more realistic drawings.

Since the time of the Italian Renaissance artists have used the concepts of perspective to achieve greater depth of space to their artwork. Knowledge of the principles and practical application is essential for any artist. This book is intended to collaborate with teachers, home school parents and students of perspective. To understand perspective is to be able to apply the various eye-levels to any image. Through several illustrations Elaine Cimino Born to Draw perspective 101 will show how to develop technical and artistic skills to master the techniques of perspective to create more realistic drawings. The topics covered are:

  • One, two and three-point linear perspective
  • Atmospheric perspective

Plus these related perspective techniques:

  • Drawing conical shapes and ellipsis or circles in perspective

Also, there are chapter reviews, quizzes and art projects to follow along. Also included is a short bio on the Italian architect Filippo Brunelleschi.

Sold separately are the video instructional demonstrations and the graphic illustration that appear in the iBook.

This iBook also includes the educational alignment for the benchmark and art educational standards of the National Art Education Standards and that of several state’s educational benchmarks starting at grade level 4th through 6th grade, 7th through 12 grade and college level foundation art classes. (State benchmarks include, New Mexico, Iowa, California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Wisconsin.)

Practice makes perfect! See online podcasts for more demos on perspective by Elaine Cimino.
